French school (XX) - Composition figurative abstraite

Original work of the French School, dating from the 1960s, executed in mixed media on paper, combining painting and collage. The composition, particularly dense and expressive, mingles figurative and abstract elements. Several figures and faces emerge within an ensemble built by successive superpositions of colors, materials and pasted fragments. The palette is rich and contrasted, notably combining tones of blue, green, red, yellow, pink, black and white. The artist plays with impasto, overlays, scrapes, brush marks and textural effects, giving the whole considerable visual depth. The various figurative elements seem to appear and disappear beneath the pictorial layers, creating a particularly dynamic composition. The use of collage and painting bears witness to explorations of matter, figuration and abstraction that occupy an important place in post-war French artistic creation and the 1960s. École : française Époque : années 1960 Technique : technique mixte, peinture et collage sur papier Dimensions : 65 × 50 cm Œuvre originale et unique The work shows traces corresponding to its age and the nature of the technique used: irregularities of the paper, wear, handling marks and small accidents on the borders. The different thicknesses and irregularities visible on the surface are also linked to the overlaps of painting and collage. The photographs allow a precise appreciation of the technique, the details, as well as the condition of conservation of the work and are an integral part of the description. Beautiful original work from the 1960s, with a very expressive character, interesting for a collection devoted to the French School after the war, to figuration, to abstraction and to mixed media.
