Francesco Scavullo (1921–2004) - Claudia Schiffer

A remarkable portrait of Claudia Schiffer by Francesco Scavullo, one of the great American photographers of fashion and portraiture in the 20th century. Scavullo photographed the leading figures of fashion, beauty, and American popular culture. His work with Claudia Schiffer belongs to the early years of the German supermodel's international rise. The present copy is a genuine vintage press print. The credit “Photo by Francesco Scavullo” is integrated into the print, while the reverse retains the original professional indications: “Schiffer Claudia (model)”, the date “Feb 25, 1992” and a Historic Images label bearing the reference PIP 05193. Silver gelatin print on photographic paper. Sheet: 20.4 × 25.8 cm. Image: 18 × 23 cm. Very good overall condition. The reverse shows a beautiful brown patina linked to the aging of the paper, while the recto and the image have retained a very good quality. A particularly elegant photograph of Claudia Schiffer, bringing together one of the great names of fashion photography and one of the icons of the generation of supermodels.
