France - France 1853-1890 - Collection of classic stamps

France 1853-1890 - Set of classic stamps, undentellated Napoleon III in Sage type - Mint with and without gum A fine collection of classic French stamps tracing nearly forty years of postal history, from the Second Empire to the end of the 19th century. The sheet brings together three major emblematic eras of French philately: the undentellated and laureate Napoleon III, the Ceres issue of the Third Republic, and the Sage type in its two printings. The most sought-after item in the lot is the 20 centimes blue Napoleon III undentellated, accompanied by several 1 centime olive and 5 centimes green from the same nude-head series, printed before the introduction of perforation. These values, among the most emblematic of the Second Empire, appeal to both classic stamp collectors and enthusiasts of shade nuances and printing varieties. The lot continues with the Napoleon III laureate, the 1871 Ceres issue, then a beautiful Sage-type series covering the two engraving periods, from the 1 centime grey to the 50 centimes red, including a remarkable 30 centimes brown. One sheet specimen still bears a plate number in the margin, a detail appreciated by Sage-type specialists. The set mixes pieces with original gum and pieces without gum, to be examined individually according to your collecting requirements. General freshness and centering to be appreciated from the photos.
