France 1859/1890 - Lot of 4 antique letters and postal...

A superb set of four complete letters from the Second Empire era, complete with their contents and equipped with stamps, postmarks, and sender’s marks. Ideal for postal history collectors, thematic philatelists, or old documents on 19th-century commerce. The lot includes: 1. Letter from Metz (August 22, 1859): Financial correspondence addressed to a Parisian stockbroker (Mr. J. Béjot, rue Vivienne). It bears a remarkable blue embossed handstamp of the sender, “Gélinet, Agent de Change à Metz.” Franked with a blue 20-centime stamp (not perforated, canceled by a lozenge of dots), with an arrival mark on the back (Strasbourg to Paris, August 23, 1859). 2. Letter from Paris (April 27, 1870): Commercial folded letter with typographic headstone of Beuzard (Merchant in metals, foundries and rolling mills, 74 Rue Vieille-du-Temple in Paris, with workshop at Grenelle). Addressed to the director of Papeteries du Marais et de Sainte-Marie at La Ferté-Gaucher (Seine-et-Marne). Blue 20-centime stamp with departure and arrival marks. 3. Letter from Lézignan (November 6, 1864): Wine trade correspondence issued by Kléber Culliet & Cie, dealers in wine prices and market rates (wines from Fabrezan, Narbonne, etc.). Blue 20-centime stamp, departure mark from Lézignan (Aude), transit via Bordeaux and arrival mark at Cette (Sète) on November 7, 1864. 4. Fourth thematic fold from the period: Harmoniously completing the set with its Empire-era postage, regulatory postmarks, and contemporaneous commercial manuscripts. Condition: Good overall for original documents of this period (folds from postal use inherent to the era, ink marks and stamps well preserved). A coherent and very aesthetic set for display or study.
