Frame - Antique Baroque box-frame in gilded wood - Manifattura Veneta

Description: A refined and rich antique gilded carved wooden frame with inlaid decorative plaster, dating from the late 19th century to the very early 20th century, of exquisite manufacture from the Veneto area. The frame features a sinuous, deep profile and is adorned at the corners and along the central bands with elegant reliefs of vegetative motifs, leafy scrolls, and small flowers. The inner profile that tightens toward the glazing is finished with a classical beaded/ovolo moulding. The front gilding preserves a warm, evocative shine, enhanced by a light and natural patina of time. The back reveals the original wooden structure, structurally reinforced in a later period with the application of metal angle plates to ensure stability and immediate use (either to house an antique canvas or to be transformed into a prestigious mirror). From a private collection. Material: Wood, plaster/gesso, gilding Era: Late 19th - 20th century Style: Baroque / Neoclassical (Model: Carlo Maratta / Salvator Rosa) External dimensions: 67 × 76 cm Internal dimensions (glazing aperture): 50 x 60 cm Width/Depth of the moulding: 6 cm Conditions: Very good aesthetically. The gilding is well preserved with minimal and normal signs of time or small superficial losses consistent with the period. The back shows old structural reinforcement restorations that do not detract from the beauty of the object. The detailed photographs offer a transparent view of the lot.
