Cotton, mix of machine and hand sewing, all hand quilted; three quilts with motifs in red and tan pieced or appliqued on white field including a Shoo-Fly variation, a Princess Feather variation, and an eight pointed star variation, with white backing; the fourth quilt with cheddar yellow Oak Leaf variation motifs (the leaves are white) on white field, with cheddar border, white backing. The largest (Princess Feather) about 79 x 91 in. From the Featured Collection of Sharon and Richard Densmore, Charleston, South Carolina Staining and discoloration throughout; some holes and fraying; damage to at least one corner; fading; one small area of repair.
