A highly conserved specimen of Cleoniceras with extraordinary patterns of mineralized sutures — This specimen of Cleoniceras ammonite, originating from the geological formations of Madagascar, represents a fossil of notable paleontological and collecting interest. The species Cleoniceras, typical of the Early Cretaceous (Aptian), is distinguished by its involute shell and the complex designs of ammonitic sutures, here magnificently preserved and made visible by mineral replacement. The shell exhibits exceptional secondary mineralization, with a predominance of aragonite that gives warm hues ranging from intense orange to reddish-brown, interrupted by portions of white calcite. A fracture traverses the shell along its length, a feature common in many large fossils, which in this case has been stabilized and professionally prepared. Such intervention ensures the piece’s structural integrity without compromising its aesthetic or scientific value.
