Fossilised animal - Decorative Collection of 2 Ammonite...

A refined triptych composition featuring three distinct polished cephalopod specimens from Madagascar, elegantly presented on a custom black metal display stand. The collection highlights different evolutionary forms and mineralization styles: Polished Nautilus (Nautiloid): Presenting a smooth, rounded shell with gentle, curved suture lines and rich golden-brown mineralization. Polished Cleoniceras Ammonite: Displaying a sleek outer surface with warm amber tones and delicate suture patterns across its spiral form. Sliced Cleoniceras Ammonite: Revealing a crisp cross-section of internal chambers filled with golden calcite crystals and divided by intricate mineralized septa. Ammonoids and nautiloids were marine mollusks that dominated prehistoric oceans during the Mesozoic Era (approx. 145 to 66 million years ago). While ammonites possessed complex, frilled suture lines, nautiloids featured simpler, smooth partition structures—a characteristic that helped their lineage survive through major extinction events up to the modern day. The fossils from the ArteTerra collection are mounted on a custom-crafted black steel stand with adjustable display prongs, designed to highlight the unique geometry, color variation, and scientific beauty of each individual specimen.
