Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Fossil skull - Allosaurus - Museum-Grade Replica - 35 cm - 15 cm
Why does it look real? Because it is real stone! Ossatorum Aeterna is a company specializing in the creation of ultra-realistic replicas of dinosaur skeletons and other extinct or endangered animals. Using an innovative mineral-coating technique, our creations achieve an authentic, museum-quality appearance. This unique approach was born from a simple observation: painted replicas often lack realism, while traditional casts, although more faithful, often limit fine anatomical detail. Our hybrid technique combines the best of both worlds—accurately capturing anatomical complexity while reproducing the mineral texture of natural fossils. The result is a level of realism rarely seen outside professional museum collections. Item for Sale: Replica Skull of Allosaurus Overall Dimensions (with base): Length: 30 cm Height: 35 cm Depth: 15 cm Discover a museum-quality, ultra-realistic (1:3 size) replica of the Allosaurus skull—crafted for collectors, paleo-artists, and enthusiasts who value scientific fidelity paired with a striking visual presence. About Allosaurus Allosaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 145–155 million years ago, in what is now North America and parts of Europe. As one of the dominant predators of its ecosystem, Allosaurus possessed a lightly built yet powerful skull equipped with sharp, serrated teeth adapted for slicing flesh. Its cranial structure includes distinctive ridges above the eyes, which may have been used for display or species recognition. Unlike later massive theropods, Allosaurus likely relied on speed, agility, and repeated slashing bites to subdue prey. Fossil evidence suggests it may have hunted large herbivores such as Stegosaurus and Diplodocus. The skull of Allosaurus reflects a balance between strength and flexibility, making it one of the most recognizable and studied theropod cranial structures. Key Features (Superior Craftsmanship) Weight and Stability With the base included, the skull weighs 150g. Its solid construction ensures a stable and secure display suitable for shelves, desks, or exhibition environments. Mineralized Hyper-Realistic Finish This piece has undergone a multi-step artisanal process, including a hand-applied mineral coating that replicates fossilized bone, natural weathering, and the fine textures characteristic of theropod skulls. For optimal presentation, directional lighting is recommended. Light enhances the cranial openings, ridges, and jawlines, revealing depth and reinforcing the lifelike quality of the piece. Exceptional Detail Surface textures and anatomical structures are reproduced with remarkable precision, faithfully capturing the fenestrae, dentition, and overall cranial morphology of this iconic predator. Museum-Grade Mounting The skull is mounted on a professional metallic support rod fixed to a solid base. Designed as a true display piece, it integrates seamlessly into both private collections and professional exhibition spaces. Material Polymer coated with Ossatorum Aeterna’s hand-applied mineral finish, made from carefully selected natural stones finely ground to reproduce the coloration and texture of authentic fossil material. Scientific Accuracy Based on verified paleontological data and high-resolution scans of fossil specimens, this replica is produced at 1:3 scale, ensuring anatomical fidelity and a strong scientific presence representative of this iconic Jurassic predator.
