Flos - Achille Castiglioni

Flos Splügen Bräu – Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni Splügen Bräu is one of the most celebrated lamps of Italian design, designed in 1961 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos. Its unmistakable silhouette, achieved by aluminum work, perfectly expresses the Castiglioni brothers’ search between function, technology, and form. A project that over time has become a true icon, capable of fitting naturally in both contemporary spaces and more classical interiors. This exemplar comes from a showroom display and has been used exclusively for display purposes. It is presented in excellent overall condition, with light traces attributable to its time on display. The cord shows a slight darkening, barely perceptible and not compromising the lamp’s overall aesthetics. It is also a component that is easily replaceable: the model is still produced by Flos and the related components and spare parts are available. The Splügen Bräu is offered with the halogen bulb with a silver dome, which completes its original and distinctive aesthetics. The bulb can be replaced with a modern LED version with an E27 fitting, for more efficient and contemporary use. An interesting opportunity to add to your collection a timeless classic of Italian design, signed by two of the most important figures in the history of 20th-century design.
