Presentation copy from the library of architectural historian Carol Herselle Krinsky, with Newhouse's printed calling card mounted to the front free endpaper above Krinsky's personal Ex Libris bookplate. An important association copy documenting Carol Herselle Krinsky's behind-the-scenes contribution to one of the standard modern studies of Wallace Harrison. In the acknowledgments, Newhouse credits Krinsky twice: first among the scholars who provided comments on the manuscript, and again—together with Gregory Gilmartin—for "their invaluable help in providing a number of illustrations." Krinsky's assistance thus extended beyond editorial advice into the visual documentation that helped shape the finished volume. The book itself remains the foundational biography of Harrison.
