*** ITALIANO *** Rare and exceptional historic international railway collection for a railway museum (Italy / Germany), dating from the mid-20th century (approx. the 1950s), consisting of a total of 4 original period pieces with a splendid patina of time. The lot documents the historic Piedmont railway network and its international operational exchanges in the post-war period. The lot comprises the following pieces, complete with specific measurements: 1. THREE DOUBLE-SIDED DESTINATION / DIRECTION SIGNS (PIEMONTE): Made of heavy stamped iron sheet and fire-painted in the antique process. They feature the typical and fascinating archival graphics with bold black characters on a white background. They are original line operation boards, designed to be turned by railway staff at the end of the run depending on the direction of the train: - TORINO / TORINO (Size: 40 x 15 cm): Double-faced with the same inscription, designed with a taller height to ensure maximum legibility at the terminus of the station. Equipped with the original iron suspension hooks and the coeval iron wire still mounted. - CASALE / ALESSANDRIA (Size: 50 x 10 cm): Bi-directional line sign. On the right side it bears the original and very rare archival red-write inscription "DEP. CASALE" (Casale Depot), an internal departmental marking attesting to its official provenance. - VERCELLI / CASALE (Size: 50 x 10 cm): Second bi-directional line sign, mirror-imaged to the previous one, from the same identical historic supply lot. 2. The front presents its honeycomb reflective surface from the era with the classic alternating white and red chevron motif (St. Andrew’s Cross).
