Pair of carved walnut armchairs in Louis XV style. Elegant pair of matching armchairs to the chairs of the same set, in solid carved walnut. The contoured backs are topped with a carved and pierced ornament. The curved armrests, padded with upholstered cuffs, as well as the curved feet, highlight their Louis XV style. The seat and back are covered with a fabric featuring floral and foliate patterns, alternating with burgundy stripes on a cream background, in shades of olive green, pink and gold. A gilt finish emphasizes the edges of the upholstery. Style: Louis XV Estimated period: late 19th century, circa 1880–1900. Materials: carved solid walnut and fabric.
