F.lli Marchi, Brescia (Italia). - Pitcher - Majolica

Splendid and elegant decorative pitcher (or monumental bottle) in artistic ceramic, produced by the famous Italian manufactory "F.lli Marchi" of Brescia (active from the mid-20th century). The lot bears on the bottom the original mark of the manufactory, guaranteeing authenticity. The piece is a perfect example of Italian Mid-Century Modern design, strongly influenced by Brutalist currents and the exoticism of the 1960s/1970s. Artistic features and details: • Material finish: The body of the pitcher features a spectacular bubbly texture with a "lava stone" or natural rock effect, finished in shades of white and gray, pleasant to the touch and with a strong visual impact. • Raised decoration: On the front develops a wonderful vertical panel finely engraved and hand-painted. The graphic motifs celebrate exotic and oriental iconography (Indian), showing from bottom to top: a pair of ceremonial elephants finely glazed in white, a seated figure or deity in a meditative/dance pose, heraldic lions, and a columned temple at the top. • Form: Slender, asymmetrical silhouette, with a large squared geometric handle and a stylized spout reminiscent of ancient parade jugs or classically redesigned amphorae in a modern key. A unique collectible piece, ideal for enriching design interiors, mid-century modern collections, or ceramic collectors of Italian twentieth century. Shipping insured, this shipment is not combinable with other lots.
