Exceptional Regency Convex Mirror

ca. 1825, English or American, the giltwood displayed eagle atop a rocky outcropping, flanked by a pair of scrolling acanthus leaves mounted with coiling serpents, the reeded, cove-molded surround carved with scrollwork and honeysuckle, each side with pairs of spiral-reeded giltwood candle branches set with cut-glass prisms rings and brass beehive-turned candle sockets, the base with carved acanthus leaves and a carved cone center finial, the antique mirror plate with a reeded and ebonized liner.
