Europese school (XVIII-XIX) Navolger Raffaello Sanzio - Madonna en Kind

A beautiful and atmospheric religious oil painting on canvas, depicting the Madonna with Child. It is a finely executed historical interpretation of the famous Madonna Tempi by the Italian High Renaissance master Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio, 1483–1520), whose original masterpiece is located in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. This work tenderly captures the intimate embrace between the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child. Although the composition remains faithful to the original, the landscape in the background and the expression of the figures show the distinctive hand and style of a skilled follower from the 18th century. The painting is housed in a monumental, richly decorated wooden/plaster frame. Condition: The artwork is in stable condition. The canvas has, in the past, been relined/reinforced on the support, as visible on the back. The paint surface shows authentic, age-related craquelé spread across the entire canvas, giving character to the piece. There are older restorations and retouches visible under the varnish layer. The canvas is well stretched on the stretcher. The frame: The painting is equipped with an impressive and heavy antique ornamental frame. The frame is structurally sound but shows clear signs of age and use. There are some visible damages and small material losses (including at the corners and edges; see detail photos). These imperfections contribute to the antique appearance. Dimensions: (canvas 78.5 x 63 cm) (90 cm x 74 cm)
