European school (XX) - Stilleven met een Vaas met bloemen

This painting is very likely signed A. Jung. The work is a classic, mid-century modern (20th-century) still life of flowers, executed in a thick impasto technique with a palette knife or coarse brushstrokes. Paintings with exactly this type of signature ("A. Jung") and in this specific, expressive style appear more often at art auctions and on second-hand platforms. Regarding the exact biography of this particular painter, however, little is documented in standard art-historical databases, which often suggests that it is a distinguished European (mostly German or Central European) studio painter from the postwar period.
