European school (XX) - Callejuela de Baeza

Title: Callejuela School: European Impressionist School (20th century) Style: Mediterranean Impressionism Technique: Oil on canvas State: Good overall conservation condition. Circle and artistic influence: The work participates in the tradition of the 20th-century Mediterranean urban landscape, especially interested in the luminosity of the white villages of southern Europe. The quick brushwork, the contrasts between whites, blues and ochres, and the simplification of façades reveal a clear Impressionist and post-Impressionist heritage. View of a narrow Mediterranean street flanked by whitewashed façades, with in the background a church with a square-towered; the composition uses a central perspective that leads the eye toward the religious building, while the intense whites of the houses contrast with the blues of the shadows and the ochres of the roofs. A small human figure provides scale and life to the scene. The work presents with an elaborate framing in grayish and gold tones, decorated with relief vegetal motifs and a wide light interspace. Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will specify photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation.
