Toutes les enchères / Luminaire / Esterbrook - Estie "Nouveau Blue Gold" - Medium (M) Nib...
A0000004360 HOMAGE TO ART NOUVEAU / NOUVEAU BLUE GOLD (M): An exceptional high-end Esterbrook Estie fountain pen, in its acclaimed and very elegant catalog finish "Nouveau Blue Gold", belonging to the contemporary modern collection of the legendary American firm under factory reference ENB156-M. Designed as a celebration of the classical art of early 20th century, this line blends an ergonomic torpedo-profile silhouette with the most advanced acrylic materials available today. This specimen stands out for its robust chassis 15.0 cm long when closed, crafted in high-density turned acrylic resin with an intricate marbled pattern mixing deep blues, translucent light blues, and veins in coppery and cream tones. The cap features a friction-closure system aided by an internal spring that hermetically seals the block to prevent ink evaporation, mounting a clip polished and yellow-gold plated of great flexibility and bearing the firm name "Esterbrook" crisply engraved on the lower lip. The grande jewel of this lot is its original steel nib with yellow gold plating, engraved with the historic Esterbrook clover and the date "Est. 1858", showing on the side the official medium stroke "M" stamp. The filling system operates with standard international cartridges or a piston converter. It is presented in excellent condition, complete with its official red fabric rigid case and protective outer box. Condition: Collector Quality / Excellent Premium Condition The writing instrument is presented in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition, ideal for collectors: Nouveau Blue Acrylic Resin Chassis: The external surface boasts a magnificent and uniform mirror polish throughout its contour. Completely free of signs of use, stress cracks on the cap lip, or scratches from drops. The visual pattern offers chromatic depth and spectacular reflections under direct light. Gold Components and Engravings: In magnificent condition. The gold plating on the clip and central band remains bright, intact and unworn. The Esterbrook gold lettering on the cap remains perfect 100%. Gold-Plated Steel Nib (M): Impeccable. The gold tines are perfectly straight, symmetrical, and aligned with respect to its modern flat feeder, preserving its iridium point for a smooth, medium-width stroke of legendary softness. Machinery and Package: Totally operative. The interior is clean and accompanied by its official factory presentation with its original boxes, which greatly enhances the lot for auction. Curious Fact for Collectors For international appraisers and stylophiles on Catawiki, the Esterbrook Estie Nouveau Blue series with an M nib is a highly coveted lot because this ribbed, color-pattern recreates the famous Tiffany-era stained glass and the Art Nouveau movement. It features the innovative internal grasp system called Cushion Cap Closure, which blocks air entry and guarantees that the pen writes instantly even after weeks without use. The Nouveau Blue finished units presented in premium condition with their official full box represent a magnificent value-stable investment opportunity in the European market. I wish you the best of luck in your bids and an excellent auction to all Catawiki participants!
