Escuela Impresionista (XX) - Pareja de Vistas de Montaña

Title: Pair of Mountain Viewses ㅤ School: European Impresionista School (20th century) ㅤ Style: Landscape Impressionism ㅤ Technique: Oil on canvas ㅤ Condition: Generally good condition, with slight signs of aging and use appropriate to its era. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: Set related to the tradition of European 20th-century Impressionist landscape painting, with influence from en plein air painting and Post-Impressionism. Loose brushwork, simplification of forms, and dominance of greens, ochres, blues and greys place both compositions within an atmospheric interpretation of the landscape, more focused on visual and luminous impression than on a meticulous description of the surroundings. ㅤ Pair of mountain landscapes painted in oil on canvas. Both compositions depict valleys traversed by waterways, with abundant vegetation, vertical trees and large mountain reliefs that close the horizon. ㅤ In the first work, a river winds from the foreground to the back of the composition, creating depth and guiding the eye toward a succession of mountains wrapped in a grayish atmosphere. The vegetation is rendered with quick brushstrokes and color patches that add dynamism to the whole. ㅤ The second view likewise shows a mountainous landscape crossed by a watercourse, with masses of vegetation in the foreground and pronounced reliefs in the background. The composition features somewhat more marked and contrasted brushwork, highlighting variations of light on the slopes and the vegetation. ㅤ The palette of both works maintains a notable unity, based on muted greens, earth tones, grays and blues, reinforcing their pair status and providing a sense of serenity and visual continuity. ㅤ Both works are presented with carved wooden frames in a gilded aged finish. The frames feature classic stepped profiles and a warm tone that contrasts with the natural and cool colors of the landscapes. ㅤ Notes: The work may sustain damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation.
