Escuela Catalana - Armchair - Guilleumas - Wood - Original upholstery

This low armchair produced by the Catalan firm Guilleumas during the 1970s constitutes a magnificent example of the Mediterranean design of the era, characterized by the pursuit of solid, functional and visually balanced forms. Its structure, made in dark-toned solid wood, stands out for the robustness of its straight lines and its compact proportions, conveying a sense of stability and constructive quality that was one of the hallmarks of the house’s production. The design is articulated through thick lateral uprights that frame a slightly inclined backrest with a softly curved profile, creating an enveloping and welcoming silhouette. The wide seat and back cushions, upholstered in light fabric with a delicate geometric embossed pattern, bring luminosity to the set and establish an attractive contrast with the deep warmth of the wood. The low height of the piece and the generous depth of the seat enhance a relaxed resting experience, while the purity of the forms reveals the influence of Scandinavian modernism reinterpreted from the Catalan sensibility of the seventies. Elegant and timeless, this armchair combines the artisanal robustness of its construction with a sober aesthetics that easily fits both vintage interiors and contemporary environments, becoming a piece of character that brings authenticity, comfort and decorative value to any space. Certified shipping and good packaging.
