Toutes les enchères / Autres / Escola Portuguesa Contemporânea - Afonso Henriques, primeiro rei de Portugal
- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. Signed on the back. - This contemporary interpretation of Afonso Henriques reinterprets the figure of the first king of Portugal through a markedly avant-garde language, synthesizing medieval sovereignty through cubist geometry and the play of faceted planes. The effigy forgoes realistic facial features to construct a schematic and monumental face beneath the helm, centering all symbolic load in the sword firmly gripped with both hands, an indisputable emblem of the Reconquista and of the founding of the kingdom. The palette of ochre tones, greens, and earthy blues, combined with the decomposition of the garments into blocks of light and shadow, succeeds in transforming the historical portrait of the apparatus into a modern icon that unites the warrior solemnity of the founding myth with bold formal inquiry. - Image dimensions without frame: 40 x 60 cm / 50 x 70 cm with exclusive custom frame. At Montbaron Gallery, we are pleased to offer our clients an exclusive selection of artworks, all of them unique, original, and unrepeatable. Each piece in our gallery is the result of deep dedication, a creative vision, and masterful technique, characteristics that guarantee its authenticity. The works we sell are not industrial reproductions; they are pieces created individually by recognized artists, each with its own story and essence. Originality is the basis of our commitment to excellence, and therefore every painting or sculpture that is part of our collection is carefully selected to ensure its singularity. Acquiring a work from Montbaron Gallery means owning an irreproducible piece, an investment in creativity and talent that, over time, will preserve its artistic and emotional value. We take pride in offering works that not only beautify spaces but also connect our clients with the richness of human expression through the most authentic art. Thus, we guarantee that every work that leaves our gallery is a one-of-a-kind piece in the world, with no replicas, and a showcase of the innovation and passion of the artists we work with. Certain lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit issued by the Ministry of Culture. Although this is an administrative procedure, it is indispensable to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free circulation internationally. Montbaron Gallery is committed to offering its clients original, unique, and irreproducible artworks, guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of each piece in our collection. To ensure transparency and trust in every purchase, we offer a digital Certificate of Guarantee, signed by a certified art historian. This certificate attests that the acquired work has been authenticated by our specialists, who verify its authorship, origin, and state of conservation. The Certificate of Guarantee includes full details about the piece, such as its author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Certificate of Guarantee will be issued upon the client’s request, providing an official reference for the acquired piece. This document will be sent in digital format and will be signed by an art historian from our gallery, ensuring its validity and support. We are committed to the satisfaction and trust of our clients, so any questions about the authenticity or condition of the work will be addressed professionally and diligently. To request your Certificate of Guarantee, please contact us through our usual channels. It is important to note that the shipping cost prices listed in the advertisement are indicative and subject to modification depending on various circumstances. Our goal is to offer the best possible service, adapting to each client’s needs and ensuring the work reaches its destination quickly and safely, with no surprises.
