oil on canvas laid on board, 72.5 x 59.5cm; framed 81.5 x 67.5cm, Believed to depict Norah Smyth (1874–1963), a prominent member of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) who supported Sylvia Pankhurst’s activities around 1911–12. Smyth was also a keen photographer, and her photographs provide an important visual record of the suffragette movement. Condition Report, Condition Report, Craquelure and crazing.
