Searle [Birmingham Mint] for the British Art Medal Society, facing bust, draped, rev. standing figure of Dickens leaning against a pile of books, each 245mm, total wt. 8.72kg (Attwood 11; The Medal 4, p.29; Jones, CBM p.57, 7; BM Acq. 1983-7, p.86, 244; E 2144; cf. SJA 114, 324; cf. Silich III, 1174). Extremely fine, as made, in all likelihood unique in this format; each attached to a fashioned wooden base board, with hook on the back for suspension £300-£500.
