EMILE BRUNET (1864-1943) "Portrait of Monsieur - Portrait of Madame" Oil on canvas, Signed at the bottom right and bottom left and dated 1897, Beautiful pair of portraits finely executed by the painter Emile Brunet, portraying Bordeaux notables in 1897. The painter has depicted with realism the garments but especially the faces of Madame and Monsieur. A pupil of the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux and then in Paris, Emile Brunet joined the studio of the painter Gustave Moreau. He returned to settle in Bordeaux and became a professor alongside his work as a easel-painter and wall decoration artist. Note: An old minor restoration visible on the back, with no effect, should be noted on the portrait of Monsieur. Dimensions: 60 x 50 cm, each canvas, without frame. -- An invoice is issued for each purchase. We ship in France and abroad by private carrier with insurance included. Customs duties for shipments outside the EU are the purchaser’s responsibility.
