Elgin De Luxe – Vintage hand-wound – Grade 558 – 17 Jewels – 1945 Elegant rectangular Elgin De Luxe men's watch from the 1940s with classic American Art Deco / dress watch aesthetic. Particularly characteristic is the strongly curved rectangular case in combination with the domed crystal and the nicely aged light dial. Gold-colored, applied Arabic hour markers and the small seconds at 6 o'clock emphasize the typical style of this era. Inside, the high-quality mechanical Elgin Grade 558 hand-wound movement operates with 17 jewels and 4 adjustments. The movement bears the serial number U699033. The case was manufactured by Wadsworth and is labeled “10K Gold Filled.” The inner side of the case back bears the number E924878. The dial is in authentic vintage condition and shows age-related patina and signs of wear. These have intentionally been left in their original state and give the watch its historic character.
