Elegant Gold Bracelet with Rubies & Pearls, Great Britain c. 1910

Bracelets enjoyed great popularity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was not uncommon to wear several, up to four pieces, on each wrist. The patterns and shapes varied, but the warm sheen of gold united the different designs. This bracelet dates from this era. It is crafted in the classic round shell pattern - a timeless design that has lost none of its elegance to this day. At the center of the piece of jewellery are three larger decorative links with floral ornaments set with natural pearls and rubies. Elegant curves show the influence of Art Nouveau. We discovered this enchanting piece in London. The typical British fineness of 15 carats shows that it was also created in the UK. With its light, lively design language, it still captures the esprit and joie de vivre of the Belle Époque.
