Elegant Belle Époque Necklace made of Antique Elements with Diamonds

This necklace is light and lively and shines with cheerful brightness. A long pendulum is set on a delicate chain and ends in a blossom of diamonds. An old-cut half-carat diamond forms the center of the composition. Other, smaller diamonds form a round dance of light around it. A total of around 1.60 ct of old-cut diamonds are set. The absence of any historical ornamentation demonstrates the modernity of the design. The guiding principle was geometry and the desire to create such astonishingly fine frames and settings that one cannot help but think of an ice crystal or a silk thread. In other words, a work of nature rather than the work of man, even more so from more than 100 years ago. In terms of its color and lightness, the necklace is entirely in keeping with the taste of the years c. 1910, although it was probably created later, as a closer look reveals. It consists of two parts. The diamond element at the bottom sets the diamonds in platinum. The pendulum, on the other hand, is in silver. Both parts were therefore created separately and were originally part of different pieces of jewellery. Nevertheless, both were created at the same time, around c. 1910. They were united to form this necklace at a later date, when a skilled goldsmith combined them with a platinum chain to create a necklace. We were able to purchase the necklace here in Berlin. Its precious decoration and elegant lightness are a great pleasure.
