These cufflinks from around 1920 are made from warm, luminous yellow gold. They impress with their elegant shape, in which the front sides show a high-quality finish that is characterized by luxurious understatement. The oval fronts are engraved with stripes and fine guilloche work, creating a decorative wave pattern that looks almost like woven fabric. A short anchor chain connects each of the four similarly designed front sides of the buttons. This type of design was very popular for cufflinks from the 1910s to the early 1940s and can be found in countless variations in the jewelry catalogs of the time. The luxurious buttons that found their way to us here in Berlin are undamaged, ready to wear and still a beautiful eye-catcher on shirts today.
