Being sold to benefit NC Modernist, a non-profit documentation of Modernist houses across North Carolina. Abie Harris is an architect and artist who served as Director of Campus Planning at North Carolina State University from 1966 to 1986. In recognition of his contributions to the university and its built environment, he was named University Architect Emeritus in 1999. In addition to his distinguished architectural career, Harris is an accomplished studio artist known for his skill in freehand ink drawing and his expressive approach to landscape. The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM) celebrated his work with the solo exhibition Emergent Landscapes: Mountains, Music, & Improvisation in the Paintings of Abie Harris, on view from August 24, 2021, through February 19, 2022.
