Toutes les enchères / Autres / École Romantique Espagnole (XIX) - Portrait de Jeune Fille avec Poupée
- Oil on canvas. Original canvas. Re-lined and antique restoration. - During the consolidation of bourgeois society in mid-19th century Spain, Romantic painters such as Carlos Luis de Ribera and Antonio María Esquivel transformed child iconography, capturing children not as miniature adults but as symbols of purity, social status, and the future of prosperous families. Through static academic elegance and refined meticulousness, Ribera’s and Esquivel’s compositions placed these youngsters in sumptuous interiors or idyllic landscaped settings, surrounded by representative toys — hoops, balls, or parasols — and dressed in elaborate garments of silk, lace, or flounced skirts with Turkish-style trousers. These childhood portraits not only immortalized parental affection, but also functioned as ostentatious testimony of refinement, socioeconomic status, and the ideal of protected and educated childhood in Isabeline Spain. - Image dimensions without frame: 64 x 104 cm / 69 x 107.5 cm with exclusive custom frame. At Montbaron Gallery, we are pleased to offer our clients an exclusive selection of artworks, all unique, original, and unrepeatable. Each piece in our gallery results from thorough dedication, creative vision, and masterful technique, characteristics that guarantee its authenticity. The works we sell are not industrial reproductions; they are pieces created individually by recognized artists, each with its own story and essence. Originality is the foundation of our commitment to excellence, and thus every painting or sculpture in our collection is carefully selected to ensure its singularity. Acquiring a work from Montbaron Gallery means owning an unrepeatable piece, an investment in creativity and talent that, over time, will preserve both its artistic and emotional value. We are proud to offer works that not only beautify spaces but also connect our clients with the richness of human expression through the most authentic art. Thus, we guarantee that every work leaving our gallery is a one-of-a-kind piece in the world, with no replicas, and a testament to the innovation and passion of the artists we collaborate with. Some lots, due to their age and value, require an export permit granted by the Ministry of Culture. Although this is an administrative procedure, it is essential to ensure the authenticity of the work and its free circulation internationally. Montbaron Gallery is committed to offering its clients original, unique, and unrepeatable artworks, guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of each piece in our collection. To ensure transparency and trust in every acquisition, we offer a digital Certificate of Guarantee, signed by a certified art historian. This certificate certifies that the acquired work has been authenticated by our specialists, who verify authorship, origin, and condition. The Certificate of Guarantee includes complete details about the piece, such as its author, creation date, technique used, and dimensions. The digital Certificate of Guarantee will be issued upon the client’s request, providing an official reference for the piece purchased. This document will be delivered in digital format and signed by an art historian from our gallery, ensuring its validity and support. We are committed to the satisfaction and confidence of our clients, so any questions about authenticity or the condition of the work will be addressed professionally and diligently. To request your Certificate of Guarantee, please contact us through our usual channels. As art logistics experts, at Montbaron Gallery we are committed to ensuring that every piece arrives at its destination safely and in the best possible condition. To that end, we work with a network of professionals specialized in art transport, who guarantee the utmost care throughout the process. It is important to note that the shipping cost prices shown in the listing are indicative and subject to modification depending on various circumstances. These include variations in transport market tariffs, changes in delivery location, the size and weight of the work, and possible extraordinary circumstances, such as fluctuations in fuel costs or adjustments to customs and import tariffs. The final shipping cost will be calculated precisely based on these factors and will always be communicated to the client in advance before shipment. Our aim is to offer the best possible service, adapting to each client’s needs and ensuring the artwork reaches its destination quickly and safely, with no surprises. The frame shown in the previous images has been added to the work by a third party or by the seller, so it is not an integral part of the object. This frame is provided at no additional cost so that, when the work arrives at your home, it can be exhibited immediately on your wall. Accordingly, frame damages that do not affect the integrity of the work will not be accepted as a valid reason to open a claim or request a cancellation.
