Unique for the Type and Denomination on the Issuing Bank East Cambridge, Massachusetts. $2 1875. Fr. 391. The Lechmere NB. Charter #614. PMG Very Fine 30. A rarity for an otherwise common charter that organized in 1864. This "Lazy Deuce" issued by the Lechmere National Bank of East Cambridge (Charter# 614) is nonetheless unique for not only the series imprint, but also the denomination which has long been a perennial favorite of collectors on the issuing bank. Here bidders are met with more than just circulation consistent with the grade assigned, but also a fine counterpoint against the glut of well-circulated notes that seemingly represent this design and denomination with noted frequency and speak to the harsh realities of commercial channels during the 1860s and 1870s. Yet for some reason this note survived for reasons unknown and presently offers a sight that cuts not only a superb contrast against most surviving representatives of this design, but also the 92 notes recorded on this charter by the National Bank Note Census.
