Dutch school (XIX) - Zeilboten

This painting shows a seascape with several sailing boats, the largest boat centrally positioned in the composition. The dark sails stand out strongly against the menacing, cloudy sky, in which brown, green, and gold tones have been used. The light breaks in spots through the clouds and is reflected in the water, creating a striking contrast between light and dark. The rolling sea and heavy clouds give the painting a mysterious and almost dramatic atmosphere. Thanks to the smaller boats in the background, there is also a great sense of depth, while the large sailing boat immediately draws the viewer's attention. Executed in oil on canvas. Not framed Dimensions of the work approximately 90 × 142 cm Viewings are possible
