This lot consists of the following wines Dr Loosen Riesling 2017 Dr Loosen Riesling Red Slate Dry 2017 When Ernst Loosen took over his family’s Mosel estate in 1988, he turned Dr Loosen into one of Germany’s most celebrated names, championing tiny yields and a light hand that lets each site speak. This pairs two of the estate’s 2017 regional Rieslings: the fruity, off-dry Dr L, an approachable introduction to the house style drawn from classic slate vineyards along the river, and the dry Red Slate (Rotschiefer), a fuller, riper wine from the warm red-slate soils of villages such as Ürzig and Erden. 2017 was a small but classically proportioned Mosel vintage of racy, precise Rieslings.
