Scheibe bindery of Vienna (boards with stains and wear, traces of humidity, corners a bit worn, edge with faded titles). Unique edition. Interior in good condition with sporadic stains and foxing. Ludwig Karl Moser (1845-1918) studied natural sciences at the University of Vienna. In 1874 he was named a teacher at the state secondary school of Teschen and in 1876 was transferred to the state Gymnasium of Trieste, where he worked until retirement in 1904 and where he spent the rest of his life. From 1883, he devoted himself to the study of ice formation in caves. His observations agreed with those conducted contemporaneously by Fugger in the Salzburg Alps and corresponded to the "winter ice theory", at the time still the subject of heated debate.
