Doyen - Wine glass (6) - Uranium glass

Magnificent set of 6 stemware in ouraline, Art Deco style, attributed to Verreries Doyen, Belgium, circa 1930. This elegant set of six glasses is distinguished by its rounded bowls in clear glass, resting on long stems lightly tinted yellow-green and wide circular feet. The junction between the bowl and the stem features a charming décor of moulded rings, adding a refined touch characteristic of the Art Deco aesthetic. A remarkable feature of these glasses lies in their spectacular fluorescence under ultraviolet (UV) light. Under natural light, the bowls are transparent while the stems and feet display a delicate yellow-green tint. Under UV illumination, the stems and feet reveal an extremely intense emerald-green fluorescence, characteristic of ouraline, also known as uranium glass. This contrast between the transparency of the bowls and the fluorescence of the feet makes this set particularly decorative and sought after by lovers of fluorescent glass.
