Toutes les enchères / Autres / donne moi un titre The Franklin Mint – Catherine «...
Superb fine porcelain collectible figurine issued by The Franklin Mint, depicting Catherine, the heroine of the famous Emily Brontë novel “Wuthering Heights” (Les Hauts de Hurlevent). An impressive limited-edition piece, entirely hand-painted and numbered. Catherine is represented standing in an elegant gown in rich shades of violet, mauve, pink and blue, where the many pleats and ruffles are particularly well crafted. The dramatic movement of the dress gives great dynamism to the sculpture, evoking a young woman advancing in the wind across the English moors. The care given to the details is remarkable: delicately painted face, long wavy brown hair, floral motifs, fine gold edging and multiple texture effects on the different fabrics. The numerous embossed skirts further reinforce the depth and realism of the composition. Catherine holds a superb golden lantern in her hand, while the rocky and vegetated base directly recalls the wild atmosphere of the moors in “Wuthering Heights.” This figurine is made of fine porcelain and hand-painted. It belongs to a limited edition of only 9,500 pieces. The offered piece bears the number 4752 / 9500, clearly indicated under the base with the The Franklin Mint mark. With its generous dimensions and a weight of over 1.4 kg, it is a very beautiful decorative piece, particularly imposing and richly detailed.
