Dogon bronce figure - Figure - Dogon - Mali

Dogon bronze figure, a ceremonial object crafted by blacksmiths using the lost-wax casting technique. It features a beautiful, thick antique patina known as “excavation patina,” approximately 30 cm tall including its base, dating from the 19th century or earlier. In good overall condition; note that antique bronzes are of much higher quality than recent craftsmanship, which is often crude and riddled with casting flaws and errors! Provenance: Loed Van Bussel Collection, Netherlands

Estimation:€900
