Document holder - Thuya Burl Desk Organizer

An imposing and refined desktop centerpiece, this tiered letter rack and correspondence sorter is hand-carved from solid Moroccan Thuya burl (Tetraclinis articulata). Designed with sweeping arched partitions and a built-in lower drawer, it takes direct aesthetic cues from 19th-century French desk appointments of the Napoleon III era, uniting Parisian cabinet elegance with the artisan virtuosity of Essaouira. 19th-Century Inspiration, "Ramage" & Sensory Character: French Napoleon III Influence: The cascading tiered dividers and integrated plinth drawer reflect the distinguished structure of Second Empire Parisian writing cabinets, engineered to organize stationery, letters, fountain pens, and notes with timeless decorum. Spectacular Figure & Swirling Grain: The tall arched backboard and curved partitions showcase an extraordinary natural figure (ramage), filled with tightly grouped eyelets ("bird's-eye" burl) and fiery chatoyant hues shifting from bright honey to deep vintage cognac. Prized Natural Cedar Scent: Retains the natural, long-lasting aromatic perfume characteristic of subterranean Atlas Thuya root resin, releasing a pleasant, subtle woody fragrance into your library or workspace. Artisanal Hand-Polished Finish: Polished entirely by hand to a silky, tactile sheen that highlights the natural grain contrast without heavy artificial lacquer coats. A Piece of History: Bridging 19th-century European study traditions and centuries-old Moroccan woodwork, this collector's piece adds instant warmth, historic prestige, and functional luxury to an executive desk, writing table, or private bookshelf. A unique opportunity for collectors of authentic, handmade artifacts. Please study the photographs carefully, as they represent the true character and condition of this unique piece. Your piece will be meticulously packaged and dispatched swiftly with trackable shipping.
