Diversi fotografi (Italia e Impero austro-ungarico)...

Amazing and fascinating collection of 30 original antique photographs, dating mainly from the second half of the 19th century and the very early years of the 20th century (roughly 1870–1910). The lot is largely composed of the famous "Carte de Visite" (CdV) format and portraits mounted on rigid period cardboard, typical of professional photographic studios of the Victorian and Edwardian eras. Splendid variety of portraits offering a social snapshot of the era. It includes men with typical mustaches and formal attire of the time, elegant noblewomen with elaborate hairstyles and lace collars, and very tender portraits of babies and small children in traditional clothing (including one shot on a decorated chair and one with a ball). • A collection with international reach. The cards bear stamped marks and logos of prestigious photographic studios from Central and Southern Europe. Among the inscriptions and identifiable cities on the margins stand out: • Hungary / Austro-Hungarian Empire: Budapest (Erdős Sándor studio), Kolozsvár (Meinhardt & Császár studio), Arad, Szolnok (Szigeti M. studio). • France: Marseille (A. Lezer studio). • Italy: Portraits with inscriptions and "Visit Card"-style frames (e.g., oval portrait with partial inscription "Roma"). • Albumen prints / silver bromide gelatin prints mounted on period cardboard. The photographs are generally in good vintage condition for their age of over a century. They show an authentic patina that enhances their historical charm. There may be minor signs of foxing, slightly worn corners, or small edge wear on the cardboards (as visible in the detailed photos). No invasive restoration carried out, preserved in their original state. This lot represents an excellent opportunity for collectors of antique photography, costume historians, or lovers of eclectic vintage interior design (perfect for framing and display). The presence of studios from the Austro-Hungarian Empire and French studios makes the lot historically very interesting.
