Toutes les enchères / Autres / Dinner set for 6 (21) - Ceramic - “Morphée” Art nouveau
Art Nouveau dinner service “Morphée” – Société Céramique Maastricht Beautiful and decorative 21-piece Art Nouveau dinner service by Société Céramique Maastricht, featuring the “Morphée” pattern. The service has a distinctive Art Nouveau / Jugendstil design, decorated with elegant organic lines and stylised floral motifs featuring large poppy flowers, seed pods, leaves and buds. The subtle blue-grey/green transfer decoration contrasts beautifully with the warm cream-coloured earthenware. The shaped, scalloped rims are further embellished with delicate relief decoration, enhancing the floral character of the service. The asymmetrical arrangement of the motifs gives each piece the flowing and natural appearance so characteristic of the Art Nouveau period. The service consists of: * 6 deep/soup plates * 6 dinner plates * 6 dessert plates * 1 small serving dish * 1 sauce boat * 1 vegetable/serving bowl The pieces are marked on the underside: “MORPHÉE – Société Céramique – Maastricht – Made in Holland” Considering its age, the service shows age-related craquelure to the glaze, clearly visible in the photographs. Further minor signs of age and use may be present. These are consistent with antique earthenware and contribute to its authentic character. An attractive and coherent antique dinner service, suitable for both decorative use and collectors of Dutch ceramics, Maastricht pottery and Art Nouveau/Jugendstil tableware. Origin: The Netherlands Manufacturer: Société Céramique Maastricht Pattern: Morphée Style: Art Nouveau / Jugendstil Material: Glazed earthenware Number of pieces: 21
