Contemporary full red morocco binding, smooth spine ornamented, boards framed with a gilt motif, roll toolings on the turn-ins and the edges, all edges gilt, blue silk endpapers. Beautiful edition, the first small-format printing, printed by Didot on vellum paper. With an additional watercolored map of France. Also bound at the end is the Almanach du Père Gérard 1792. Very beautiful binding that blends revolutionary symbols (iron with the Phrygian cap and sword, allegory of fame) with the fleur-de-lis, symbol of royalty.
