DENMARK. 1/8 Speciedaler, 1667. Copenhagen Mint. Frederik III. NGC EF-40. KM-286; Hede-74; Sieg-65; Schou-33; Aagaard-61.1; Bruun-6581. Weight: 2.74 gms. Mintmaster: Gotfred Krüger (GK). A subtle luster surrounds the devices while a lovely, iridescent toning frames the legend. Only a very few of examples are known of this interesting issue. Although referred to as a 1/8 Speciedaler by most of the reference literature, the weight makes it more likely that it is in fact a Silver Off-Strike of or a pattern for the Ducat, Hede-35, Fr-82. Estimate: €2,500 - €3,500. Provenance: From the L.E. Bruun Collection. To view supplemental information and all items from the L.E. Bruun Collection, click here.
