Delicate Ring with a Yellow Ceylon Sapphire and Diamonds in Gold

Some time ago, we were fortunate enough to acquire a large collection of tourmalines and beryls that had been lying dormant in a Stockholm gem dealer’s warehouse since the 1950s. Our goldsmiths have designed a ring to showcase each of these gemstones, accompanied by six diamonds. Crafted from sustainable materials and set with diamonds that also carry their own history—thus breathing new life into these historic materials. When we then discovered a small collection of unusual, sun-yellow sapphires in the same size, we couldn’t resist. The center of this ring is set with a sapphire in an intense golden yellow colour. It is a natural Ceylon sapphire that shimmers between yellow and a hint of orange. The beautiful gemstone is flanked by six sparkling diamonds—three on each side—which add white highlights to the sapphire’s intense radiance. The stones are set in high-karat gold. As with all rings in this series, the gold and diamonds are sustainably sourced. They come from pieces of jewellery that, unfortunately, were in such poor condition that they could no longer be restored. Here, however, in a new form, they too can begin a new life. This is the first time this sapphire has been used in a piece of jewellery, it came to us from Hamburg. We love this ring design because it’s simple and lets the beautiful gemstone take center stage.
