Beautiful original piece of folk art/antique This is an antique, hand-carved three-arm candlestick made of oak wood. The unique design consists of three sturdy, carved elements that strongly resemble classical claw feet (often used under monumental antique tables or cabinets). On top of each wooden claw is a twisted metal candle holder (bobeche) with a central candle pin to securely hold taper candles or thick candles in place. The three legs are brought together on a solid, oval oak wood platform. This type of woodcarving testifies to traditional craftsmanship, with the natural grain and the deep, dark patina of the oak beautifully preserved.
