The object is an authentic Delft blue calabash vase (also known as a double-gourd vase or 'Japanese bottle') from the world-famous factory De Porceleyne Fles / Royal Delft. The code PK on the bottom refers to the initials of the master painter P.J. Kremers, Period: who worked at the factory between 1942 and 1956. This specific type of vase is hand-painted with traditional floral motifs such as peonies and fine scrollwork in various shades of blue. The vase is in perfect condition, has always stood in a cabinet. With beautiful hairlines (craquelé), truly a stunning object.
