ew Series – The Dreamed Shadows Photographer Artist – Creator of Contemporary Imaging Multidisciplinary photographer-artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost lifelike presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – The Dreamed Shadows The Dreamed Shadows explore the boundary between presence and disappearance. A female silhouette is traced through backlit veils, forming an image that seems both real and dreamt. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, affixed between two aluminum plates, with a soft UV- and humidity-resistant coating, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law participates in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the dedicated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual activity, he develops an authorial and musical career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a graphic novel, a photobook, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the band FRENZY.
