David Law Photographer-Artist — Creator of contemporary imagery Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence, and the perception of the image in urban space. He first became known for a series dedicated to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light, and composition, these inanimate models gain a troubling, almost life-like presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary rereading of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetic. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the subject’s artistic universe. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. Substantial work is conducted on colors, light, and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with a built-in back mounting. Printed on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminum plates, with flexible anti-UV and anti-humidity lamination, ensuring excellent durability, great longevity, color stability, and a modern, contemporary look. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also a photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual activity, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book, and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
