David Law Photographer Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images Multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work focused on gaze, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series dedicated to shop window mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he extends this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, questioning our relationship to illusion and projection. New Series – Echo Waves / Echo Visions - A new reading of cultural icons The Echo Waves / Echo Visions series offers a contemporary reinterpretation of cultural icons through an immersive and vibrant pop art aesthetics. Each work rests on a mosaic construction made up of thousands of micro-graphic compositions. From afar, the image reveals a recognizable figure, while up close, it unveils a richness of visual details. Each fragment acts as a “wave,” evoking the artistic universe of the subject represented. The creation process is long and demanding, requiring precision and mastery of graphic tools. A thorough study is conducted on colors, light and the overall harmony of the image. Everything is created in an original and independent manner. Edition & Production Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are produced on aluminum with integrated rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, laminated between two aluminum plates, with flexible UV and humidity-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term color stability and a modern, contemporary rendering. Career Since 2014, David Law has participated in about twenty Contemporary Art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also a designated photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Parallel to his visual work, he develops a writer-performer career including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photo book and 5 self-produced CDs. A vocalist and guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
