"Mickey Bastard" is a sharp critique of American consumerism in its excess. The character representing Mickey in all his horror embodies American no-limit, the shameless enrichment of companies, of industry and inevitably of its population. Dan Burrough is an artist from Liverpool living today in Ireland. Close to the movement of the Young British Artists in the 1990s represented by the Saatchi Collection, he denounces in his work what he regularly calls American deviance.
